celebrates the achievements of students as they transform their lives through learning. To make this process even more rewarding and fulfilling, has developed interactive courses to make heavy content more assimilable, increasing the learning capacity of its students.

With the economic downturn, there has been a swell in numbers of young people enrolling in courses, while more mature individuals pursue retraining and further education. For most of them, a book is still more interactive than a static website.

"It is a challenge to engage people as they learn," says Brian Reeves, Communications Director. "They are usually more prone to print out their study notes and sit down in their couch to read."

interactive courses integrate multimedia in an innovative way to deliver heavy content, such as literature lessons for students, combining audio, video, text, and graphics. Not only will students find this to be more captivating – even young learners will be more prone to pay full attention to the course content, allowing them to be more receptive, improving their memory.

Students often find subjects such as history to be problematic as the nature of study makes them go back and forth in different eras. With the interactive course's 'animated learning' feature, students see their course books and readings with a timeline which makes it easier for them to see the big picture. "When we tested this feature on students, we found that students' essays improved greatly, especially in terms of references, since they were able to connect the dots in the big picture, allowing them to make more advanced and elaborate deductions," explained Reeves.

The games and activities vary depending on the subject. Flash cards are used for English lessons to help memorize and test new words to improve vocabulary.

Stephen Ovais, one of the students in the focus group who tested these features, remarked, "Do you know how easy it is to listen to someone reading you your book? Beats reading yourself!"

The advancements incorporate intuitive web functionality, allowing students complete access to study resources. Reeves said, "It is hoped that these advances will lead to advances in our students' careers and a promising future as we continue to develop our joint capacities."
